Everton star signed for £40m to break silence on injury woes and contract issues ahead of Chelsea game

Dele Alli will be a guest on Monday Night Football as he continues his recovery from injury.

Everton midfielder and former Tottenham star Dele Alli will be in the studios of SkySports alongside  Jamie Carragher and David Jones as the Toffees take on Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday night. Alli is expected to speak on a range of topics including his injury nightmare and his long-term future at the club.

Punditry could be the 28-year-old’s job after football and his debut is expected to generate interest having recently revealed he was struggling with mental health. Alli’s contract at Everton comes to an end this summer and there is little clarity over where he will be playing his football next season.

The Toffees manager Sean Dyche has however revealed in the past that he would not rush him back and was willing to give him all the time he needed to heal before returning to the squad.

Dyche said: "We'll see [when Dele will be back]. He's got a long way to go and we have deliberately kept him back from it and I agreed with him just to give him time and give him space, so that's what we're doing."

“Hopefully he'll be back, we don't know. We're giving him the privacy that he needs at this time.

"He's in a good state, I spoke to him recently and had a good, long conversation with him, making sense of another injury is difficult but he'll come through that I'm sure. He was [okay] when I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago. He was very informed and telling me what he thought."

Dele best day at Tottenham

When Alli joined Tottenham he had the world at his feet. He scored 10 goals in 33 Premier League games during his debut campaign before hitting 18 in the 2016-17 season, earning him two PFA Young Player of the Year awards.

Having been a regular under Mauricio Pochettino, Alli played for England 37 times and was tipped to be one of the best players for his country. He left Spurs in 2022 but has since struggled to rediscover the form that made him a target for teams like Real Madrid and Manchester United.
