Tottenham line up vs Newcastle predicted as Ange Postecoglou takes wild gamble on under-performing star

The Tottenham team Ange Postecoglou could name for their game against Newcastle this weekend.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed Richarlison will not travel with the team to Tyneside as he battles a knee injury which forced him out against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

The north London club will also be without Fraser Forster, Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon who are all long-term absentees.

Spurs are fourth on the league table, same points as Aston Villa who are fifth albeit they have played a game more than the Lilywhites, so there is little room for mistakes. Newcastle are looking to win back-to-back home game for the first time in months.

This is going to be a big test for Postecoglou’s side as they have triumphed in just two of their past nine Premier League away games, drawing four and losing three including one against Fulham where they completely beaten.

They need the likes of Yves Bissouma who has struggled to find form since he returned from the AFCON and James Maddison who is also struggling to rediscover his telling form after injury. But manager Postecoglou has proven he is not reactive and is expected to stick with both of them in his team for this weekend’s game.

Spurs take time to find their feet in games, they have scored 23 Premier League goals in the second half of games this year, they can not afford to start slowly against a Newcastle United side who are determined to finish with a floury after an injury disrupted campaign.

So with so much at stake away in Tyneside, this is the team we anticipate the Tottenham manager will name for the game.
