Crystal Palace send clear transfer warning amid £12.5m move from star from European giant
Crystal Palace are desperate to keep hold of their star players after what has been a difficult start to the season.
Crystal Palace are reportedly determined to hold on to Ismaila Sarr, who arrived from Marseille this summer and has started only one league match. Reports from Italy suggest that AC Milan are interested in the winger, and Football Insider reports that the European giants are willing to match the £12.5 million Palace paid for him in the summer.
However, Palace is intent on keeping their squad intact as they navigate a challenging start to the Premier League season under manager Oliver Glasner. The club currently has three points from their first seven games, and there are rumours that veteran manager David Moyes could replace Glasner if results do not improve.
One thing the club is not willing to do is sell any of the players they signed this summer. Football Insider quoted Mick Brown, a scout for Manchester United and Aston Villa, who confirmed that Palace would not consider selling Sarr.
He said: “I’ve been told Palace won’t let him go. They hold all the cards in this situation because he signed a long-term deal when he joined.
“I know they’re short of options in his position, so it doesn’t really matter who’s interested. Even if a club came in with a bid above what they paid for him, they have to consider how valuable he can be in their team and his worth to them. That balance between keeping your squad strong but also being open to selling players if there’s money to be made is a situation a lot of clubs deal with.”
For now, the main focus at Palace is securing their first win of the season when they face an in-form Nottingham Forest side on Monday night.
