Pizza chain Domino's turned their ruthless football banter towards Tottenham Hotspur after rinsing Chelsea with a brutal practical joke on Monday night. The Blues were welcomed to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham by a large screen carefully placed by the chain, counting the number of pizzas sold since Chelsea last scored a goal.

The number climbed upwards of nine million and towards the 10 million mark to rub salt into the wounds of supporters. Posting a photo of the gag on X, Domino's wrote: "We did the maths – turns out it’s worse than we thought."

Before the match with Fulham, Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea had failed to score in their three previous Premier League games, losing 1-0 to Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest along with a goalless draw at Bournemouth.

Ultimately, by full-time at Craven Cottage, Domino's had to eat humble dough as the Blues won 2-0. Mykahilo Mudryk and Armando Broja both grabbed goals in the 18th and 19th minute to provide a sucker-punch that Fulham were never able to come back from - the Cottages themselves now goalless in the top flight since September 16.

Football fans were quick to taunt Domino's about the result, editing the image of the van to read the number zero instead of nine million. Bantering back Domino's asked what they should count next. One user said: "Pizzas delivered since Spurs won a trophy."

Taking no prisoners and turning their pizza-based banter to North London, Domino's replied: "Gonna need a bigger van."

Users online joked that the chain might 'need a freight train' for that number while another ribbed that 'they won one on Saturday', taking aim at the celebrations at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium having beaten Liverpool. One Chelsea fan joked: "We survived a Dominos banter period, I don’t know that Spurs have the facilities to ever achieve that feat."
