Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is hoping to tempt Tottenham’s resolve in the summer with a growing interest in Giovani Lo Celso according to the Athletic.

Lo Celso is currently on loan at Villarreal where he’s been since January 2022 and has impressed the club and Spanish football in general.

The Argentine midfielder first signed for Villareal by now Aston Villa boss Unai Emery and according to the Athletic the high-flying Aston Villa manager is quite keen on reuniting with Lo Celso in Birmingham.

Tottenham made midfielder Giovani Lo Celso’s loan move from Real Betis permanent in 2020 for a reported £27.2million and even though he showed glimpses of his talent, he just never really made north London his home with Spurs now likely to accept a fee if he it was close to what they paid for him.

Unai Emery has been sensational since he took charge of Aston Villa, from being relegation threatened, he’s transformed them into genuine European contenders.

Tottenham face an intriguing summer with the club without a substantive head coach following the sacking of Antonio Conte and his assistant Cristian Stellini.
