Former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is reportedly eyeing up a new job after leaving north London.

As has often been the case in the Italian’s career, Conte began life at Tottenham with a bang, securing a top four finish last season, but the relationship ended sourly. Conte wound up calling out his players as well as the club’s owners, and he unsurprisingly agreed to leave his role with Spurs struggling to kick on after an impressive campaign of last.

But given the success Conte has had during his career, garnering a reputation for winning league titles, he is not likely to find it difficult to land a job.

Then again, according to reports, the Italian is not just eyeing any job. In fact, it’s claimed he wants a job that is already occupied as things stand. According to CalcioMercato, Conte has his eyes on the Roma job, a job that is currently taken by another former Tottenham boss in Jose Mourinho.

Roma look set to land a top four finish in Serie A this season, but there have been some rumblings that Mourinho could move on, with Chelsea once again linked, while PSG have also been tipped to approach the Portuguese boss. If Mourinho does leave, it’s claimed Conte would be interested in taking over at Roma, and indeed in returning to his home country.

The former Spurs boss would surely be a good cadidate, too, given he won a Serie A title for Inter Milan the last time he was back in Italy, but any move will, of course, depend on what Mourinho decides. Meanwhile, Tottenham are yet to appoint a full-time replacement for Conte, with assistant Christian Stellini temporarily in charge as Spurs attempt to chase down a top four spot.
