Ange Postecoglou must find consistency at Tottenham Hotspur as pressure on his position continues to rise following defeat to Fulham.

A run of three back-to-back Premier League wins for Tottenham Hotspur looks to have been a flash in the pan for Ange Postecoglou and his side after a draw against AFC Bournemouth and defeat to Fulham.

Those last two top flight results have been frustrating for the North London outfit, who continue to endure an underwhelming season. Spurs are still in the Europa League and on the hunt for silverware, which would go a long way to disguising a poor campaign, but the pressure continues to mount on Postecoglou.

The Australian has maintained the backing of the board this term with his squad riddled with injury but, should he still be in the role next season, such patience will surely not last long. Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to Fulham, Postecoglou said: "I get their disappointment. It's unacceptable to see 15 league defeats. It's nowhere near good enough, nowhere near the level we need to be, and I understand the supporters' frustrations with that.

‘Soft goals’: Postecoglou reacts to Fulham defeat

"Today wasn't so much about performance, it was just another day when we let a game get away from us that we shouldn't have. We weren't played off the park and I felt that up until the point they scored, we were the team that was getting on top.

"We had a couple of good chances to go 1-0 up and that would have put the pressure on them, but it's happened too many times this year. We've given the opposition a lift into the game by conceding soft goals."

Wherever the Tottenham Hotspur manager looks, it seems as if he can’t find the resolution to his team’s problems. LondonWorld has turned to the brainbox of AI and ChatGPT to see what the system recommends for the club.

AI sends Tottenham Hotspur six-point plan

ChatGPT recognises that Postecoglou has ‘already made a positive impact at Tottenham Hotspur’ with his ‘high-pressing, attacking’ football but outlines key areas for improvement. These come in a six point plan for Spurs.

The first is ‘refining defensive organization’. Postecoglou is told that he must make sure his side ‘stays compact and organised’ when out of possession. Possible communication issues between centre-backs and full-backs is highlighted with a more restrained approach on the high-press style of football also suggested to avoid leaving his back four exposed.

The second point for Spurs is to get the most out of midfield. Yves Bissouma, James Maddison and Pape Sarr are told that they must offer more balance with a focus on creativity in helping the team play out from the back. Postecoglou is also told to use the flexibility of Maddison more to allow him to influence the game.

‘Optimising the forward line’ is next up from the AI. It believes that Spurs have become too predictable in relying on Son Heung-min and suggests a system that sees attacking players swap positions more regularly. There’s also a focus on mental and tactical adaptability with the team criticised for not preparing mentally for the big matches this season. Postecoglou is told to be more adaptable in changing his system during a game.

ChatGPT has a section for Tottenham Hotspur on ‘strengthening set-pieces’, both in an attacking and defensive sense. The inevitable focus on balancing squad depth is also there with a focus on ‘injury management’ imperative for turning around form.

In other news, Tottenham Hotspur captain Cristian Romero penned a letter of apology to fans this weekend following defeat to Fulham.
