Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed the Walsh forward missed the game against Liverpool due to small issues and hinted the injury wasn’t anything long-term.

He told reporters: “From last week, Brennan will miss out - it’s nothing too serious but he won’t be right for this week. Madders and Sonny trained today, just finished the session and seemed to get through it not too bad. We’ll just have to see how they pull up as it’s fair to say they were a bit sore after last week and had a bit of an interrupted week training so just a matter of seeing how they pull up.”

Johnson has had a decent start to life in north London and even started the derby against Arsenal where the team showed incredible mental strength to come from a goal down twice to earn a point.

Everything seems to be going right for Tottenham who are having the best start to a league season in ages, the brand of football has restored the soul of the club and fans are back in love with their team.

Players who struggled under previous managers are looking world class under Postecoglou and the feeling within the club is that of renewed energy going into the game against Luton Town at the weekend.

The Lilywhites will go through the first two international breaks of the season undefeated if they can avoid a defeat against one of the Premier League’s newly promoted side who got their first win of the campaign against Everton.
