Eric Dier could profit from an injury to Cristian Romero who looked to have picked up a knock on international duty.

The Argentine defender had to leave the game against Peru and even though reports have suggested that it might not be a long-term injury Spurs are likely not to risk him if he was in the slightest pain.

Dier has been on the fringes since Ange Postecoglou took over in the summer and there are those who have suggested he should have been sold in the summer but he could not get a chance to stake a claim in the team.

He is yet to play a minute this season but could be brought in for Monday night's game if Romero fails to recover in time for the Fulham game.

Tottenham have had a brilliant start to the campaign, sitting top of the Premier League and they have had to do it the tough way losing talisman Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

On the injury front, it hasn't been easy with Ivan Perisic for the rest of the season after a training ground incident. Summer signing Manor Solomon then followed with a two-month injury and even though Bryan Gil and Lo Celso are getting back Ange Postecoglou will hope that he catches a break at some point.

There is also growing belief that summer signing Brennan Johnson could be fit for the game on Monday night having missed the last two games and stayed behind to work on his fitness during the international break.
