Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou might have provided a hint of his early team news ahead of the Liverpool game this weekend by saying both James Maddison and Son Heung-min, who were both carrying injuries in the Arsenal game are fine.

The Lilywhites continue to show a different side to their game under Postecoglou and had to come back twice to earn a point, keep their unbeaten run going and earn the admiration of their fans.

Spurs fans had their hearts in their mouth when James Maddison went down and needed extended treatment but in the end, Postecoglou said he was certain both he and captain Son were fine.

The Tottenham boss told reporters at the Emirates stadium: “Madders and Sonny went into it and they weren’t 100 per cent going into the game, but they got through it - which suggests to me that it is nothing serious.”

Spurs continue to excel without some key players who historically make them better when they are fit including Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon.

The first two are making incredible progress and could be involved after the next international break with Ange Postecoglou admitting that Bentancur has been involved in training with the team even though they have to be careful not to bring him back too early.

The Spurs boss added: “Rehab is the toughest bit. Talk to any player, it is not just the work but the solitary element of it. He was buzzing yesterday but it is good. Fair to say he has a fair bit of work to do and great to have him involved. He was dejected of course when we had to pull him out of it after half an hour.”
