Tottenham are now preparing for a tough-looking clash with Liverpool after standing up to their North London derby test at Arsenal.

Spurs fought back from behind twice against the Gunners to draw 2-2, showing real character with the help of an inspired James Maddison and Son Heung-min. Excitement continues to build for Ange Postecoglou’s men, but there is another tough test around the corner, with Liverpool lying in wait this weekend.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Spurs.

Alli latest

Everton boss Sean Dyche has confirmed that discussions will be held with Tottenham over add-ons from Dele Alli’s transfer to Goodison Park.

As it stands, Alli has a number of unusual clauses in his Everton contract which entitle his former club Tottenham to a payout of up to £40m. The first of those is a £10m payout which comes into effect if the player is to surpass the 20 game mark for Everton. However, Sean Dyche is keen for the club to find a compromise to these clauses so that they don’t suffer any implications in terms of their Financial Fair Play requirements.

Dyche has said: “When he is fit and well I am sure [sporting director] Kevin [Thelwell] will go to Tottenham and say, ‘Right, how can we make this work for everyone’. It has never been at that stage so we have to wait for it.”

Udogie praise

Destiny Udogie has received special praise from Paul Merson for his performance against Arsenal.

“Destiny Udogie was outstanding,” said Merson on Sky Sports.

“For him to get booked so early on in the game, then go up against Bukayo Saka – one of the best wingers in the world – is some going. But credit goes to Ange Postecoglou, he said to him: ‘I have faith in you, you’re a full-back it’s your job to defend one-v-ones. Stay on the pitch’.

“Normally, against a player like Saka, a manager would take him off as you wouldn’t want a red card. But fair play to the manager and Udogie did his job really well.”
