Ex QPR star in Championship own goal mayhem as Sunderland receive triple boost for Loftus Road visit
Top of the table Sunderland visit Loftus Road to take on a struggling QPR outfit this weekend.
QPR still hunt for the elusive second win of the Championship season but a point on the road against in-form Burnley will be a huge positive for Marti Cifuentes and the London outfit.
The fixtures don't get any easier for the R's with Sunderland up next at Loftus Road. The Black Cats sit top of the Championship table, having lost just two of their 12 matches this term.
Here's your QPR news round-up on Monday after a busy weekend of second tier action.
Sunderland triple boost ahead of QPR clash
QPR may have hoped that Sunderland would be without three key first team stars for this weekend's visit to Loftus Road, but that will not be the case.
Black Cats head coach Regis Le Bris feared that Jobe Bellingham, Chris Rigg and Trai Hume could all be suspended for the match on Saturday with the three players having accumulated four yellow cards this season. However, the players made it through the fixture against Oxford United without a fifth booking, which would have resulted in a one-match suspension.

The Sunderland Echo describes that news as a 'major boost' for Le Bris, with Bellingham on the scoresheet against Oxford United, having been assisted by Hume.
Ex QPR goalkeeper in own goal mayhem
Former QPR goalkeeper Seny Dieng found himself at the centre of Championship drama at the weekend as Norwich City and Middlesbrough played out a 3-3 draw at Carrow Road. The 29-year-old turned in a strange own goal that has got football fans talking.
The shot-stopper joined Boro from QPR in the summer of 2023, ending a seven year stay at Loftus Road. The Senegal international has gone on to cement himself as first choice under Michael Carrick at the Riverside Stadium, racking up 46 appearances for the club - he played 121 times for the R's.
Middlesbrough were 3-2 up with 10 minutes left to play at the weekend when a cross from full-back Kellen Fisher caught Dieng flat-footed. The former QPR man could only push the ball onto his feet and into the back of the net. Sharing a clip of the goal on social media, the Second Tier Podcast labelled the moment 'one of the most bizarre goals you'll ever see'.
