'Vital' - QPR man earns L'Equipe praise alongside £50m Bayern Munich megastar for Millwall heroics

QPR goalkeeper Paul Nardi has been hailed by the French media for his efforts in the side's 1-1 draw against Millwall at Loftus Road on Saturday.
The 30-year-old summer signing had a busy day between the sticks as the visitors dominated large parts of the game - Lions boss Neil Harris viewed the point at Loftus Road as 'glass half-full' after midfielder George Honeyman missed an open goal and the chance of a winner.

The French outlet follows the progress of players from the country across the globe each week to pick the best performers to make the XI. Nardi is joined by megastars including Real Madrid man Kylian Mbappe, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, Liverpool man Ibrahima Konate and AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez this week.
L'Equipe reports: "Struggling since the start of the season, QPR can thank Paul Nardi. The French goalkeeper was determined when facing Millwall with four vital saves to keep the score level at 1-1. The former Monaco star also showed neat footwork, thwarting the Millwall press single-handedly on several occasions."
The meeting with Millwall was just Nardi's sixth QPR appearance having arrived at Loftus Road this summer. The Frenchman was signed to replace the departing Asmir Begovic, who was first choice last season but left at the end of his contract and is now part of the Everton set-up.

Nardi signed from Gent following the expiry of his contract in Belgium and the player has also played for Monaco, Nancy and Lorient in the past.

Speaking about the goalkeeper after he put pen to paper on his QPR contract, Cifuentes said: “Paul is a 'keeper who is at a very good age in terms of the ability to develop while already performing at a very high level. He has already accumulated big experience in two important leagues in Belgium and France. He showed a big desire to join us and we hope he can contribute with his quality to the way we want to play.
“He is an attack-minded 'keeper. He tends to play high up the pitch so he can help us to cover a high defensive line if needed because he is aggressive in his positioning. He can also help the team in our build-up, so hopefully, this will help us to become a better team.”
