QPR send Lyndon Dykes 67-word message as £1m Birmingham City transfer confirmed

QPR striker Lyndon Dykes has completed a move to League One outfit Birmingham City, bringing about the end of a four year stay at Loftus Road.
The Scotland international, who missed out of Euro 2024 action due to a late injury this summer, was the club's top scorer last season with nine goals. Dykes had made two cameos from the bench so far this season, against Sheffield United and Cambridge United, scoring against the Blades in the 2-2 draw.

When asked why Dykes was not in the squad against Plymouth Argyle, despite not being injured. Cifuentes said: "I just pick players based on availability. He wasn't available."
Dykes had been linked with a move to Millwall and Birmingham City, but it is the League One side that have won that race with a reported £1 million fee agreed with QPR. It's been a big summer of spending in the Midlands following relegation from the Championship last season with Christoph Klarer, Willum Willumsson, Emil Hansson, Alex Cochrane, Alfie May, Ayumu Yokoyama, Ryan Allsop, Marc Leonard and Bailey Peacock-Farrell all also arriving for a fee.

As QPR confirmed the player's departure, CEO Christian Nourry sent a public message to Dykes, thanking him for his service at the club. Nourry said: “I want to take the opportunity to thank Lyndon for his stellar efforts and immense commitment to the football cub over the last four seasons, during which he made some critical contributions.
“Admirably, off the pitch, he threw himself into all aspects of the football club. We have been fortunate to have him in our ranks and wish him all the very best for his new adventure.”
