QPR player ratings - 'Pure class', 'gamechanger' and 'extraordinary' stars all 10/10s as Leeds United thrashed

QPR had to win to confirm their place in the Championship next season, and the Rs did just that in quite some style.

QPR confirmed their place in the Championship next season with a purring display under the lights at Loftus Road against a dumbstruck Leeds United.

It was a dreamland start for the home side as the Leeds United defence stood off Ilias Chair, allowing the winger a dangerous amount of space on the edge of the box. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Chair sweetly struck home from distance to put the Rs into an early lead.

That goal woke up the Yorkshire outfit, who forced a good save from Asmir Begovic minutes later. The veteran got down well as a Joel Piroe shot made its way through a crowd of defenders.

Marti Cifuentes' side held their own with a couple of half-chances before stunning the Whites when Lucas Andersen jinked his way through the Leeds United penalty box to whip a curled shot into the far corner past Ilan Meslier after 22 minutes.

The Premier League chasers looked a shell of the side that has impressed so often this term before the break and appeared to have found little drive in the changing room at half time, with the match picking up exactly where it had left off.

QPR came close to a third as Ethan Ampadu had to bravely divert a Chair rocket past the goal with his head and Colback nearly fired in from the following corner. The third did come with little over 15 minutes to play as a brilliant Chair corner was put on a plate for Dykes to head home at the near post.

Three became four with minutes left to play when Sam Field nodded in a pin-point Chair free-kick and Loftus Road felt just about ready to take off with Championship survival wrapped up in style. Here's how the QPR players rated on Friday night.
