The QPR youth academy product has made over 100 appearances for the club but hasn't tasted first-team action in the league since defeat to Millwall on Boxing Day. Jimmy Dunne, Reggie Cannon and Aaron Drewe all appear to be more in Cifuentes' thoughts than Kakay.

Quoted in West London Sport when asked about the player's future, the QPR head coach said: “Well, when you look at the squad and the selections over the last weeks, it’s obviously the case.

“It’s nothing against Ozzie. I will not be the one judging what he has done at the club for many years. He has been proving that he is a very competent player. But obviously we are in a situation where there is a lot of competition to get into the squad at right full-back.

“It was Reggie at the start playing a lot, then since Jimmy came in and started to play in that position he has been doing really well and giving us another dimension in terms of the things he can give to us.”

Where Kakay ends up next remains to be seen but he has previously spent loan periods at Livingston, Chesterfield and Partick Thistle.

Two Millwall stars set to stay

Millwall stars Ryan Leonard and George Saville have had contract extensions triggered to keep them at the London outfit last season.

South London Press confirmed the news this week after the two players starred in the side's huge win over Leicester City at The Den on Tuesday night. Leonard and Saville had appearance-based clauses in their contract and have both been prominent figures under Neil Harris since his return.

The returning Millwall boss had hinted at a desire to freshen up his squad this summer but has since pulled some good results out of the side he inherited.

Leeds United eye ‘easy’ £15m transfer

Leeds United are expected to find it 'easy' to complete a £15 million deal for on-loan Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon this summer, should the Yorkshire side achieve promotion back into the Premier League.

The Welsh international has enjoyed a good season at Elland Road and it's expected that the club would look to make the move permanent to ensure continuity at the back under Daniel Farke.

Rob Guest told the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast: “In terms of the others in the Championship. Joe Rodon is excelling for Leeds United. I think that should be an easy deal to complete, especially if Leeds win promotion to the Premier League, it’s a really exciting end to the season.”

It is expected that Rodon would cost Leeds United £15 million. The 26-year-old's deal at Spurs is believed to end in 2025.
