QPR star completes international initiation as R's sent Middlesbrough transfer update - round-up
Middlesbrough goalkeeper Seny Dieng is said to have seen a Deadline Day move to QPR collapse this summer.
QPR are unbeaten in six Championship fixtures and remain one of the league’s in-form teams over the international break with clubs preparing for a return to action next weekend.

Julien Stephan is a popular man in west London as it stands with his shaky start to life at Loftus Road already long forgotten. The R’s didn’t win any of their first four matches in all competitions, which included a 7-1 humbling at the hands of Coventry City.
One early problem that plagued Stephan was his choice of goalkeeper for QPR. Paul Nardi had owned the number one spot last season but the French coach preferred rising star Joe Walsh at the start of the campaign.
QPR handed Middlesbrough transfer update
The 23-year-old then picked up an injury and the experienced Ben Hamer was brought in on a free transfer. The Northern Echo even reported that QPR saw a Deadline Day transfer move to bring Seny Dieng back to Loftus Road from Middlesbrough fall through.
Now, in a fresh update, The Northern Echo claims that Boro will look to offload Dieng come January. The goalkeeper missed the second half of last season with a serious Achilles injury and was unable to take part in pre-season.
Dieng returned to training last month but is struggling to get a look-in at Middlesbrough. The shot-stopper did get a run out with the under-21s and, after that match, Edwards said: “We didn’t take Seny with us [to Portsmouth] because he went to Brighton with the Under-21s. He was getting his first minutes since his injury. It’s all part of his process and the progress that he’s making. It’s great to have him returning to fitness.”
Given QPR’s recent form, it remains to be seen whether Stephan is now happy with his goalkeeping options or whether there could be a fresh move for a new face between the sticks come January. Should the R’s want to bring Dieng back to the club, it appears that deal could happen.
Rayan Kolli completes Algeria initiation
Meanwhile, QPR forward Rayan Kolli is away on international duty having received his first call up to the Algeria A’ squad this month. The 20-year-old has previously represented the nation at under-20 level but could earn his first minutes with the A’ team in friendlies against Palestine this week.
A video shared by SporTeam AR showed Kolli in high spirits as he stood on a chair and sang Sam Smith single ‘Stay With Me’ as part of his friendly initiation. Kolli has made six appearances for QPR this season and scored in the 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle in August.
