Marti Cifuentes has welcomed back two first team stars against Hull City.

QPR have named Ilias Chair and Morgan Fox in the matchday squad for the first time this season in a huge double injury boost ahead of taking on Hull City in the Championship this evening.

Both players have been sidelined with injury this campaign but were pictured back in first team training last week. It had be thought that the duo could return against Blackburn Rovers last weekend, but that fixture was deemed to early to risk the pair.

Chair and Fox do not make the starting XI to take on Hull City at Loftus Road but are both on the bench ahead of the Tuesday evening clash. The return of Chair, who registered seven goals and eight assists in the second tier last term, is particularly welcome news for a QPR side looking for just their second win of the season.

Writing in his matchday programme notes ahead of the match, Cifuentes said: “Today we have great news with the comeback of two important players to the squad - Morgan Fox and Ilias Chair. I am excited to get them back and I’m sure they will help us massively through the season. Let’s be strong together - and get that win!”

Chair had been involved in early pre-season preparations but was absent from friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Reading. Speaking on that injury at the end of August, Cifuentes said: “Perhaps we thought it could be less aggressive, but unfortunately it’s a lower back issue that will keep him away for some more weeks.

“I said we were waiting for some tests – and unfortunately the tests showed the development is more or less as we expected. I’m always optimistic and thought it might be a faster process, but the reality is that it’s a bone bruise and it takes time.”
