All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Championship after another busy weekend of action.

It was a day of draws on Saturday for London’s Championship clubs, with both Millwall and QPR producing stalemates. Millwall led at Oxford United for almost the entirety of the second half before conceding a last-gasp equaliser, while the Hoops missed chances and saw their hosts Watford also miss some big opportunities in a goalless draw.

The focus now switches to next weekend with no mid-week fixtures to worry about this time around. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Championship clubs with January now just a month away.

Cifuentes on Watford draw

QPR boss Marti Cifuentes was happy with what he saw from his team against Watford. "I am definitely proud of the performance and happy with the point, too," Cifuentes told www.qpr.co.uk. "I said to the players that it means a lot because it comes against a team who have been playing really strongly at home.

"The second half was a bit more open, but in the first half especially we had chances to win the game. We started the game really well - it was important to continue to be strong given the week we'd had already heading into this game. We wanted to continue the momentum following Wednesday's win at Cardiff. That was very important to us and I think that we were excellent.

"We had two clear chances in the first half. Then we had to adjust when they (Watford) went to a back four in the second half. Watford have capacity to run with a lot of fast players, they were attacking more and it was definitely more difficult in certain moments. But we expected that and I'm happy that we still showed the capacity to win the game, with Žan hitting the post."

Harris on missed chances

Millwall boss Neil Harris says his side were made to pay for not killing off Oxford on Saturday. “I suppose it’s how far we’ve come as a group over the last ten months that I’m really disappointed we’ve only got a point,” Harris told South London News. “I thought first half we were excellent. I thought our build-up play, the positions we got into were outstanding.

“We played really, really attack-minded, exciting football and we just didn’t have that killer instinct to be two or three up at half-time, unfortunately. Or did we have it and we just haven’t got the quality in the building, that’s the other side of Millwall football club unfortunately. The second half the game peaked into next to nothing in my opinion.

“I thought Oxford played better second half, but without creating any chances until the goal. I never felt in any danger or uncomfortable at any stage. I thought we were poor off the ball in the second half. We weren’t as creative as we were in the first half, but we still had plenty to do to make sure that we’d come away at least a 1-0 victory. I suppose the glaring, obvious thing is if you don’t get the second goal to kill teams off, you always leave yourself open to a wonder strike into the top corner.”

Svensson chase

Leeds United are being linked with a move for Swedish defender Daniel Svensson. According to FotbollDirekt, Svensson, who currently plays for Danish club Nordsjaelland, is of interest to Leeds and Liverpool.

Interestingly, the same report claims a move to Leeds is more likely because Svensson will want to become an instant starter at his next club, something he would not achieve with a move to Anfield.
