The EFL has confirmed dates for the upcoming season and a new broadcasting package.

QPR, Millwall and Charlton Athletic supporters will be able to fill their calendars with all the key matches for the 2024/25 season next month as the EFL confirms a date for fixture release day.

All 72 clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two will find out their fixture calendar for the next campaign at 9 am on Wednesday, June 26. The EFL has also announced other days for the calendar with all three leagues starting on the weekend of August 10.

The EFL confirmed that the regular season would end on May 3, 2025, and that the play-offs would take place on the May Bank Holiday weekend between May 24 and May 25, 2025. The Carabao Cup first round will get underway on Tuesday, August 13 with the final in the diary for Sunday, March 16 2025.

Last season, QPR were handed a London derby on the first day of the campaign as they lost 4-0 to Watford at Vicarage Road. Marti Cifuentes' men will be hoping for a better start next year when handed their first opponents.

Millwall were also away on the first day of the Championship, beating Middlesbrough 1-0, while Charlton Athletic beat local rivals Leyton Orient 1-0 at The Valley.

News of fixture release day comes as Sky Sports confirm a new scheduling plan for the Championship, League One and League Two seasons from this summer. Every single Championship team will be live on Sky Sports at least 24 times next season, with each League One and League Two club live on Sky Sports at least 20 times. The change will replace the EFL's current domestic streaming on iFollow.

It has also been confirmed that every match from the opening round of the EFL will be streamed in a broadcasting first. All 36 fixtures will be shown on a new Sky Sports + service.

Sky Sports managing director Jonathan Licht said: "For the first time, we will broadcast every game live from across the EFL on the opening weekend.

"It's going to be a huge moment for football fans up and down the country and is a fitting way to kick off our ground-breaking new partnership with the EFL."
