West Brom vs Millwall team news - 7 out as Neil Harris plagued by injury catastrophe

Neil Harris leads his side to high flying West Brom this weekend but the Baggies are enduring a disappointing week.

It continues to be a struggle to maintain momentum for Millwall this season. A 3-1 win over Preston North End last weekend was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City in midweek.

A trip to top to third place West Brom on Saturday is another test for Neil Harris' side, but the hosts did record their second defeat on the bounce against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

West Brom team news

West Brom striker Dayl Dike is nursing an Achilles injury and won't face Millwall. The 24-year-old is working with the Midlands club's coaches and medical team and is believed to be targeting a return at the end of November - he hasn't been in action since February.

Alex Mowatt and Jasoyn Molumby had also been nursing niggles but have enjoyed minutes in recent outings so will be fit and ready to go again this weekend.

Millwall team news

An already tough trip trip to West Brom is made even trickier for Millwall this weekend with the London club plagued by injury issues.

Defender Shaun Hutchinson is the latest to suffer a blow and will miss out on the trip to The Hawthorns. The 33-year-old was absent from the matchday squad against Cardiff City in midweek and Neil Harris confirmed the lay-off.

The Lions will also be without Aidomo Emakhu following his late red card against Preston North End last month. He'll sit out the second of a two match ban. Harris labelled that sending off as 'frustrating' as he continues to struggle with a depleted front line.

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough loanee Josh Coburn continues to be sidelined. The forward has only made two Lions appearances but was forced off against Luton Town earlier this month and is set for a spell on the sidelines. Neil Harris placed a six to eight-week lay-off on that injury. He said last week: “Josh Coburn is going to be out for six to eight weeks.

“That’s the bad news. We’re going to see how it settles in the next 14 days. He’s a player we chased all summer. We finally get him in the building and he starts with a goal on his debut – to lose him is disappointing."

Adam Mayor and Billy Mitchell returned to full training for the first time last month. However, it was still too soon for the duo to return to the matchday squad against Preston North End.

Harris said: “They’re back in full training for the first time this week. But in terms of being back on the squad, it will be at least three to four weeks.

“The players do a six-week pre-season programme and they have completed their first two and a half weeks. They probably have between two-and-a-half weeks to three weeks to go. We’re hoping both are going to be fine for either West Brom, leading up to the international break, or just after that.”

Tom Bradshaw is also nursing a hamstring injury picked up during the Carabao Cup defeat to Leyton Orient last month. He'll miss out against Cardiff City.
