Alex Neil on Millwall’s hopes
Millwall boss Alex Neil said early in the summer: "We're not here just to make up the numbers and be a bit unfortunate. Our plan and hope is to take that next step and be a team that's going to compete to try and get out of this division. We're not going to do it by outspending our opponents, we're going to do it by gradually building and if you do it that way, it gives you a little bit more longevity.
"It's easy to find a bit of money to get there but, if the foundations are built on sand, it doesn't last particularly long. Irrespective of how next year goes, I think it's a really exciting time to be a Millwall fan – we've got so many good young players, so many assets on the horizon coming through."
Julian Stephan on QPR’s hopes
New QPR boss Julian Stephan has said: “I know the history of QPR, but now we are in a different period,. It’s important to remember and to know the history, but it’s also important to live in the present and to build for the future. There is work to do with everybody, with the players, of course, with the management, with the CEO, with the owners, and also with the legends of the club. It’s the responsibility of everybody.
“We know the expectations from the fans – we need to give everything on the pitch, and we need also to create a strong identity. It’s very important, and after that it’s football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you need to give everything.”
Nathan Jones on Charlton Athletic’s hopes
Charlton boss Nathan Jones told the club website this summer: “I’m really looking forward to being back at The Valley, I think it’s important we started here [at The Valley] to get acclimatised to the Championship and to continue that momentum that we finished with in the play-offs. We’re delighted to get underway in a league that we’ve worked so hard to get into.
“You look at the derbies like Millwall. You also look for your old clubs, and going back to Wales, as well as the fixtures around Christmas. We won’t put too much of an emphasis on individual games though, what we have to do is make sure were really competitive.”
