Millwall vs Preston North End team news with 4 outs and 1 doubt as FA investigation continues

The Lions return to home action with the visit of Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

Millwall head coach Neil Harris felt unlucky to only take a point away from Loftus Road last weekend as his Lions side dominated against QPR.

Next up for Millwall is a return to The Den to welcome Preston North End on Saturday as Harris looks for his second league win of the campaign.

Here's your early Millwall vs Preston North End team news.

Millwall team news

Millwall will still be without Deadline Day signing Josh Coburn. The Middlesbrough loanee has only made two Lions appearances but was forced off against Luton Town earlier this month and is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Neil Harris placed a six to eight-week lay-off on that injury. He said last week: “Josh Coburn is going to be out for six to eight weeks.

“That’s the bad news. We’re going to see how it settles in the next 14 days. He’s a player we chased all summer. We finally get him in the building and he starts with a goal on his debut – to lose him is disappointing."

It was a boost for Millwall to see £3 million record signing Mihailo Ivanovic on the bench against QPR last time out. The Serbian international enjoyed some minutes late on in the game and did cause problems at Loftus Road.

Adam Mayor and Billy Mitchell returned to full training for the first time last week. However, it was too soon for the duo to return to the matchday squad against QPR.

Harris said: “They’re back in full training for the first time this week. But in terms of being back on the squad, it will be at least three to four weeks.

“The players do a six-week pre-season programme and they have completed their first two and a half weeks. They probably have between two-and-a-half weeks to three weeks to go. We’re hoping both are going to be fine for either West Brom, leading up to the international break, or just after that.”

Tom Bradshaw is also nursing a hamstring injury picked up during the Carabao Cup defeat to Leyton Orient last month. Murray Wallace has had some minutes with the academy in recent weeks as he works his way back from injury and was back in the squad against QPR last weekend.

Preston North End team news

The Lilywhites striker Will Keane had missed two fixtures with a hamstring injury but was back on the bench against Blackburn Rovers last time out. The 31-year-old didn't see any minutes but does appear to be fit and ready to play.

Patrick Bauer is an injury concern for the visitors. The defender was handed a rare start against Fulham in the Carabao Cup last week but picked up an injury in that match.

Speaking after that game, Paul Heckingbottom said: “Yeah, so we need to assess him. The medics were not happy with it at all and called for him to come off straight away. So, not sure. We’ve obviously been told what it could be, but we’ll wait and see.

"He has obviously not played for a long time. We’ve played him in a couple of reserve games, to get him up to speed. I had the opportunity to play him tonight, so we’ll see, I hope it’s nothing that can keep him out for a long time.”

Andrew Hughes was a doubt ahead of the Blackburn Rovers clash having picked up a knock against Fulham but did feature in that game. The FA is investigating Milutin Osmajic over an alleged bite in that fixture but no decision on a potential ban has been passed yet.
