Millwall player ratings - 'Impressive' 9/10 but 'poor' 5 as point shared with QPR

Neil Harris’ side turned in an impressive performance against QPR but had to share the spoils at Loftus Road.

Millwall will perhaps feel unlucky to only leave Loftus Road with a point in a closely fought London derby against QPR.

Duncan Watmore was once again a real threat for Neil Harris and his goal in the 34th minute had been coming. The R's replied through Michael Frey just six minutes later.

The Lions continued to find chances in the second half with George Honeyman failing to poke home into an open goal and head back to The Den with just the point. Here's how the Millwall players rated.

GK - Lukas Jensen, 7

Not helped by his defence for the QPR goal. Did well to get out to Frey so quickly but it was a good finish from the striker.

LB - Joe Bryan, 6

Had a tough battle on his hands against Dembele but clearly up for it with some physical tackles early. Looked keen to test Dunne going forwards but had to be conservative with opportunities to attack.

CB - Japhet Tanganga, 6

Played a sublime lobbed ball over the whole QPR team with just six minutes on the clock but that was the highlight. Gave the ball away very carelessly to Andersen in the second half - the R’s man just as sloppy, which was a relief for the defender.

CB - Jake Cooper, 5

Pretty poor for the Frey goal. Backed off and off until it was too late and the ball was in the back of the net.

RB - Ryan Leonard, 7

Did well to keep the tricky Saito relatively quiet today. Made a brilliant recovery tackle on Andersen to end a dangerous QPR break in the second half.

CDM - Casper De Norre, 6

His usual self. Made some nice interventions and kept things ticking as time went on.

CDM - George Saville, 7

Made a goal-saving block on an Andersen shot in the first half and showed some no-nonsense defending when dealing with some of the opposition’s more nimble players. Did squander a really decent free kick in the second half by blasting over.

LW - Duncan Watmore, 9

A danger all afternoon. The forward never tired and deserved his goal having caused all sorts of problems for QPR. Hugely impressive.

CAM - Geroge Honeyman, 7

A busybody performance from the midfielder who was all over the pitch in the QPR half but put in some nice defensive work. Somehow couldn’t turn an Esse cross into an open net in the second half - would have been easier to score.

RW - Romain Esse, 7

Took a while to grow into the game but did do so. When Esse is at his best, he’s a handful for any defence in this league. Millwall fans won’t understand how his cross wasn’t tapped in by Honeyman.

ST - Macaulay Langstaff, 8

Still looking for that elusive first Millwall goal but a lot to like about his performance today. Always giving QPR defenders something to think about in the box and some nice hold up play, assisting the Watmore goal.

SUB - Mihailo Ivanovic, 7

Caused some issues for QPR in his cameo, supporters perhaps would have liked to see the £3 million man sooner but he is coming back from an injury.

SUB - Femi Azeez, 5

Struggled for influence as Millwall pushed for a winner.

SUB - Ryan Wintle, N/A
