Instead, the Lions are preparing for the next campaign but may first have to fend off transfer interest in star men before bringing in new faces. Meanwhile, a precarious managerial situation hangs over Loftus Road as QPR fans await clarity on the future.

Here’s the latest transfer news from London outfits QPR and Millwall in your Championship round up.

QPR in transfer race for Championship striker

QPR are one of five clubs reported to be in a transfer battle for Swansea City striker Jerry Yates this summer. The 28-year-old bagged 10 goals on loan at Derby County this season and is rumoured to be a potential exit from Wales as he finishes that stint away.

Transfer specialist Pete O’Rourke took to social media platform X and wrote: “Blackburn Rovers, Hull City, QPR and two MLS clubs are leading the chase to sign Swansea City striker Jerry Yates this summer. Yates impressed on loan at Derby this season with 14 goal contributions, but is due to return to Swansea this summer.”

QPR bolstered their options up front last summer with the arrival of Zan Celar from FC Lugano but the 26-year-old has endured an injury plagued season, leaving Michael Frey to shoulder goalscoring responsibilities alongside youngsters Alfie Lloyd and Rayan Kolli.

Yates would present an experienced Championship option with 41 goals in his 194 second tier outings so far. The Swansea City star has previously spent time at Blackpool, Rotherham United, Swindon Town and Carlisle United.

Lazio ‘monitoring’ Millwall striker ahead of transfer window

Serie A giants Lazio are said to be monitoring a move for Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic. The striker has impressed in his first season at the club since arriving from Serbia for a club record £3 million last summer.

Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi claim that Lazio are ‘monitoring’ a move for Ivanovic, who Millwall are reportedly willing to part with for £8.4 million, which would be a healthy profit for the club. The talisman signed a ‘long-term contract’ at The Den last summer, putting Millwall in a strong negotiating position.

Ivanovic scored 12 goals in 37 league appearances this term and finished the campaign in fine form with six goals since April. Lazio, who played in the Europa League this season, are currently fifth in the Serie A and chasing a spot in the Champions League next term, currently level on points with the top four ahead of the final two fixtures of the campaign.

In other news, 8 soon-to-be Championship free agents Millwall and QPR could sign for nothing this summer.
