Fabrizio Romano confirms £4m Millwall bid while Charlton Athletic target 'threatening' defender - round-up
Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones is clear that he wants another defender through the door this summer.
Millwall have submitted a €5 million bid, which is equivalent to just over £4 million, for Hammarby striker Jusef Erabi this week as Championship clubs enter the final week of the transfer window.

The Lions have already strengthened up front this summer by securing a permanent transfer for former Middlesbrough man Josh Coburn, after his impressive loan spell last term. Alex Neil also has the highly-rated Mihailo Ivanovic at his disposal, although neither bagsman has netted so far this season.
The Serbian has also been linked with a move to Premier League clubs Wolves and Everton but those transfer rumours have quietened down as the window has progressed. Nonetheless, it appears that Millwall remain in the market for another striker.

It’s transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who reports on a Lions bid for Erabi. The Championship side face competition from Belgian outfit Genk for the 22-year-old, who scored 4 goals in 18 Allsvenskan appearances last season.
Taking to social media platform X, Romano said: “Jusef Erabi will decide his future soon after two proposals received: Millwall and Genk. Up to the player as both clubs are at the table with €5m proposals.”
Meanwhile, Charlton Athletic are linked with a move for Walsall defender Connor Barrett following their dumping out the Carabao Cup at the hands of League Two side Cambridge United. Speaking after that defeat, Addicks manager Nathan Jones made it clear that he wanted another defensive signing before the close of the window.

He said: “We are stretched defensively. If we played the defensive team that played in that [last Saturday’s game against Leicester City], you run the risk [of not having them available] for QPR because we are stretched at the minute defensively. So that was why we made those changes, because otherwise you run the risk [of picking up further injuries which limit the squad].”
Football League World report that Barrett could be the man to come in at The Valley but Charlton Athletic must beat competition from Stockport County and Peterborough United. The right-back already has two goals for Walsall in League Two this season and is known for his attacking offerings.
Speaking at the start of August, after the player picked up a goal against Swindon Town, Walsall head coach Mat Sadler said: “He’s threatened a few times. I was delighted for him. It just opened up and it was a really good bit of play from him and Courtney [Clarke] in the middle of the pitch. Two impressive athletes that we have in the team there, and I thought Courtney was extremely impressive in the power and pace that he had.
“Delighted for Connor, he’d been threatening for a while, so to get his first goal and for it to be a winning goal in front of the supporters in the circumstance of the game was delightful.”
