Millwall are said to be close to appointing former Norwich City boss Alex Neil as their new manager. According to Alan Nixon, via his Patreon page, the Lions are closing in on Neil, who has been out of management since leaving Stoke City in 2023.
Neil did his best work at Norwich and Sunderland, winning the Championship and League One playoffs respectively. Millwall will be hoping Neil has a similar level of success at The Den should his appointment be confirmed.
Sunderland contract boost
Sunderland have secured a boost in the form of a new contract, with under-21s skipper Harrison Jones penning new terms, keeping him at the club until 2026, as reported by the Sunderland Echo.
The 19-year-old is tipped for big things, and the contract will make it much more difficult for any potential suitors who might be considering a swoop. Jones has scored once and assisted four times in just eight Premier League 2 appearances so far this season.
