Millwall boss David Livermore says it is likely he will be in charge for Boxing Day as the Lions continue their search for a new boss. He said, as per the South London News: “I think it is a day-by-day thing.
“If there was a new manager in Monday morning, no issue. Let’s crack on. The conversation I had, unless anything’s changed, I haven’t spoke to the chairman since, but it does look like I’ll be in charge for Thursday against Norwich. But again that could change, I don’t know.”
Cifuentes on QPR win
QPR boss Marti Cifuentes believes his side enjoyed their best performance of the season against Preston. He told West London Sport: “For me it was our best performance of the season. Starting the game so well – something that we had spoken about, because the last two first halves were not great – and then conceding a goal and losing our captain, that is something that can be mentally hard.
“The response, which was such a good performance, says a lot about the mentality of the group. I saw a lot of players performing at a high level, everybody contributed, and that’s important. And we need more of that. The Christmas schedule is crazy and we need to be ready.”
