Ex Coventry City and Huddersfield Town boss' Millwall interview stance already hinted
A 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough marked the official end of Neil Harris’ second stint as Millwall boss.
Neil Harris has officially left his position as Millwall head coach following back-to-back defeats against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough this week.

The club had already confirmed the news that the 47-year-old would be standing down from his post earlier this week in a bombshell announcement that came just ahead of the meeting with the Blades. Harris had overseen a consistent start to the Championship season but confirmation of his departure came just days after branding some Millwall supporters as 'thickos'.
The London club confirmed that Harris would remain in charge against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough but the 1-0 defeat to Boro today marked the end of his second tenure with the Lions.
Millwall had already confirmed that a recruitment process was underway as frontrunners for the job started to emerge. Former Leicester City and Nottingham Forest man Steve Cooper is one of those, along with ex Millwall boss Gary Rowett.
Another favourite is Mark Robins. The 54-year-old was sacked by Coventry City after seven years last month and has since been replaced by Frank Lampard.
Mark Robins linked with Millwall job
Robins was recently linked with the vacancy at Hull City and news from those connections could be telling for Millwall. At the time, The Sun reported that the manager was open to an immediate return to coaching, which could suggest a willingness to talk about the position at The Den.
However, the outlet added that Robins preferred to be offered the job straight away rather than go through any potential interview process.

Little has been revealed about the ongoing recruitment process behind the scenes at Millwall but, as Harris' departure was confirmed, Director of Football Steve Gallen said: “We respect Neil’s decision and he departs with the best wishes of everybody at the club. Since I joined in May, I have enjoyed my time working alongside Neil and I thank him for his efforts during this period.
“A comprehensive recruitment process is already underway for a new head coach. The direction we as a club want to head in is clear and the next head coach will play a pivotal role in helping us execute our strategy.”
