Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Luis Diaz is still out of action as his side prepare to face Chelsea tomorrow night. The Reds make the trip down to Stamford Bridge as they look to bounce back from their loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last time out.

Diaz, 26, has had his injury problems all season and although he remains sidelined, he has returned to training for the Merseyside outfit which is a boost. He has made 12 appearances in all competitions so far in this campaign and has chipped in with four goals.

Speaking ahead of their clash against Chelsea, Klopp provided this injury update regarding the Colombia international: “He’s not available but is in training. He’s not ready for this game.

“As much as want him back, we still have to give him time. When he came back to training in Dubai, he looked outstanding, until got injured again.

“We have to make sure we are patient. The Arsenal game is not completely out of picture but rather unlikely. It may be after that. Thiago was back in training yesterday, which is good as well, but he’s not available for tomorrow.”

Chelsea head into the game against Liverpool without a manager after deciding to part company with Graham Potter after their poor run of form. The former Swansea City and Brighton and Hove Albion man is now available and will be weighing up his next move in the game.

The Blues were beaten 2-0 at home by Aston Villa last time out. They have now slipped to 11th in the table.
