Leyton Orient player ratings - 'Nightmare' 3/10 but 'really bright' 8 in painful Charlton Athletic defeat

Richie Wellens saw his side suffer a very late defeat at The Valley on Saturday.

Leyton Orient will leave The Valley frustrated on Saturday afternoon after Charlton Athletic grabbed a late win in the London derby.

Richie Wellens' side looked fairly comfortable for 90 minutes, even as the Addicks dominated the ball in the second half, enjoying their own moments of danger with Charlie Kelman and Jamie Donley turning in particularly good shifts. However, a late Luke Berry goal provided heartbreak for the O’s.

Here's how the Leyton Orient players rated against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

GK - Zach Hemming, 7

A pretty quiet day really. Will be so frustrated to have lost the clean sheet late on but would be harsh to say Hemming was at fault for that. Shook off what looked to be a hamstring injury picked up just before half time.

LB - Tom James, 7

Kept Kayne Ramsay fairly quiet on that flank, which was important to do as the Addicks man can pose a real threat. Orient were much more comfortable on James' side of the defence.

CB - Dan Happe, 6

Kept the dangerous Ahadme quiet all day but was caught out at times by Campbell's directness. Outjumped by Aneke, which led to the Charlton goal.

CB - Brandon Cooper, 7

Didn't look entirely comfortable with Campbell's pace at times but was part of a defence that kept the Addicks' threat to a minimum. Looked to be carrying a slight injury niggle when subbed with around 65 minutes on the clock.

RB - Sean Clare, 4

Had a nightmare of a start to the game against Edwards and the tackle that saw the Charlton full-back stretchered off was nasty. Much more comfortable against Small.

CDM - Zech Obiero, 6

A robust if not dominant position in midfield from the 19-year-old.

CDM - Jordan Brown, 5

Part of a midfield that made Charlton Athletic work hard to create any golden chances but not an eye-catching showing.

LW - Ollie O'Neill, 6

Started bright with some early danger but faded as the game went on. The O's were more of a threat on the other flank.

CAM - Jamie Donley, 8

A really bright debut having only signed for the club yesterday. The Tottenham Hotspur loanee was clearly keen to impress as he looked to make things happen with his vision. An exciting campaign ahead for him.

RW - Charlie Kelman, 7

Had the bit between his teeth early on and full of running. Caused headaches for the Charlton Athletic defence but not able to find the back of the net today.

ST - Dan Agyei, 5

A frustrated figure who struggled against an impeccably organised Addicks defence. Saw yellow in the second half when that frustration came to the front in a clash with an opposition man.

SUB - Omar Beckles, 4

Came on to sure things up for the O's but was lucky not to be penalised for a pull on Aneke in the penalty box.

SUB - Sonny Perkins, 7

A busy cameo from the bench as he got involved and looked to make things happen when possible.

SUB - Jayden Sweeney, 5

Plenty of energy but not quite up to pace, seeing yellow for a late challenge.

SUB - Lewis Warrington, 5

Little impact in his time on the pitch.

SUB - Diallang Jaiyesimi, 5

Not able to provide a killer blow against his former club.
