What has this boss made of Fulham so far this season?

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has heaped praise on Fulham ahead of his side’s trip down to London this weekend. The Reds are preparing to face the Cottagers at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

They have turned a corner this season after a difficult start and are in decent form at the moment. Brennan Johnson’s first-half strike was enough for them to beat Leeds United 1-0 last time out.

Forest were promoted alongside Fulham from the Championship last term. They beat Huddersfield Town in the play-off final at Wembley last May.

Speaking to reporters this afternoon, Cooper has delivered his verdict on the Whites: “I think they have been excellent this season and credit to them for that for the points they have already and their league position. They have carried on their momentum from last year in the Championship. It is not easy to get promoted but it was fairly comfortable for them.

“They have recruited really well in terms of the players they have brought in. They have really added value in the right positions that they wanted to strengthen in. You can see that. They are a team with good cohesion, that have played a similar way now for a good while and that has it’s benefits.”

He added: “It is a game that is going to be a tough one. We’re away from home. We’re doing alright ourselves and we’re growing our own way. We’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Fulham won 3-2 away at Sunderland in the FA Cup last night at the Stadium of Light and will take on Leeds United in the next round. Harry Wilson, Andreas Pereira and Layvin Kurzawa were on the scoresheet for them as they beat the Black Cats.

Marco Silva’s side have been a tough side to play against in this campaign and are 7th in the table. However, Forest will be a difficult task for them and they will be under no illusion that they will have to be at their best to win.
