Fulham boss Marco Silva has become the latest Premier League figure to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. The 45-year-old has done an impressive job since taking over at Craven Cottage in 2021 and the Whites could face a battle to keep hold of him in the near future.

According to i news, Al-Hilal are interested in luring him to the Saudi Pro League. The report adds that the Portuguese manager has a release clause in his contract with the Cottagers of just £6million.

Fulham will be sweating over Silva’s situation as his current deal expires in 2024. They risk losing him if they can’t agree terms of an extension.

They swooped for the Lisbon-born man in 2021 whilst they were in the Championship and took a gamble on him after his spell at Everton didn’t work out. However, he adapted with ease to life in London and guided them to an immediate promotion to the Premier League after winning the second tier title.

Silva got the recruitment spot on last summer as his side prepared for life back in the top flight and he brought in the likes of Joao Palhinha and Willian. The Whites finished in an impressive 10th place last term above rivals Chelsea.

They will be looking forward to the next campaign as they look to build on that impressive finish. The transfer window is open and they have the chance to further bolster their ranks.

Silva started his managerial career at Estoril before spells at Sporting Lisbon and Olympiacos. He then first moved to England to take over at Hull City in 2017 before stints at Watford and Everton.

He has found a home at Fulham and is a popular man among their faithful. His future is up in the air at the moment though with a switch to Saudi Arabia being touted.
