Fulham defender Kevin Mbabu is being linked with a surprise switch to Manchester United before the end of the transfer window. He only joined Marco Silva’s side last summer from Wolfsburg.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, he is in ‘advanced talks’ over a move to Old Trafford amid interest from Italian outfit Monza. The full-back is apparently wanted as cover at full-back for Erik ten Hag’s side ahead of the second-half of the campaign.

Fulham swooped to sign the Switzerland international back in July following their promotion from the Championship. He was brought in to battle with Kenny Tete for the right-back spot but has found it hard to break into the team so far this season.

Mbabu, 27, has made just seven appearances in all competitions for the London club, six of which have come in the Premier League. He penned a three-year deal at Craven Cottage but may well be heading out the exit door already after just half a campaign.

Prior to his transfer to England, he spent three years in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and played 82 games altogether. He has also had spells at Servette, Newcastle United, Rangers and Young Boys in the past and is now said to be on Manchester United’s radar.

In other news, Coventry City have no plans to sell Fulham-linked Viktor Gyokeres this winter. Football League World claim the Sky Blues will do their upmost to keep him.
