Fulham striker Kieron Bowie is reportedly expected to stay in England next season after seeing a potential loan switch to St Mirren fall through. The youngster spent last term with Northampton Town and helped the Cobblers gain promotion to League One.

According to the Daily Record (live transfer blog, 06:21, 05.06.23), the 20-year-old is attracting growing ‘interest’ from the third tier. Another temporary switch would help further boost his development.

Fulham signed the attacker back in 2020 as a long-term addition and he has since been a regular for the Whites’ development side. However, he is yet to make a senior appearance for the Premier League side.

He was given the green light to head out the exit door when Northampton came calling in July last year to get some first-team experience under his belt. The striker went on to make 38 appearances for Jon Brady’s side and chipped in with five goals.

Prior to his switch to London, Bowie was enjoying regular football in Scottish League One with Raith Rovers. He fired 10 goals in 39 matches in all competitions for the Fife-based outfit before his move down the border. He has also been capped by Scotland at Under 21 level, scoring one goal in two appearances.

Another loan move away would be beneficial and he would be better off playing every week in the Football League as opposed to going back to youth football. He was in League Two last term which means a move up a division is the next natural progression for his career.

In other Fulham news, young academy trio Aaron Loupalo-Bi, Lemar Gordon and Chibby Nwoko have been called up to represent England Under-18s. They will take on Norway, Australia and Portugal on their travels. The first match comes against the Norwegians at the Cidade Do Futebol in Lisbon, kicking off at 11am BST on Friday, June 9.
