'Offer Sent': Fulham poised to beat Tottenham and Crystal Palace to 'incredible' £35m transfer

Fulham are reportedly expected to beat Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace to the signing of in-demand Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb.

The highly-rated 22-year-old has only made five league starts under Pep Guardiola this season and has fallen even further down the pecking order after the arrival of Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth. Bobb has made a total of 47 appearances for the City first team, having graduated from the academy.

Bobb has not featured for the club since coming off with an injury in the Carabao Cup win over Brentford in December. He has not travelled with the squad for the Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday amid transfer talk.

Fulham in talks with Man City over £35m transfer

There has been plenty of interest in the player, both from Premier League rivals and on the continent. However, it appears to be Fulham who are leading the race.

In his latest update on Tuesday morning, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote: “EXCLUSIVE: Fulham in talks to sign Oscar Bobb on permanent deal from Man City. Proposal around £35m on the table and being negotiated with #MCFC. Borussia Dortmund remain keen since December, set to decide about bidding or not soon.”

That would suggest that Fulham are poised to win the race with a lack of decisive action from rivals. The Daily Mail had named Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace as potential suitors ahead of the January window with regular reports of those clubs still being linked to the winger since.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has remained tight-lipped about the player’s future and current absence from the squad. He recently said: "He says he's not fit, so he's not fit."

Bobb would offer Fulham versatility, being able to play on either flank and through the middle. His arrival would come at an important time with Adama Traore linked with West Ham and Harry Wilson’s long-term future at Craven Cottage still up in the air.

In October, Guardiola heaped praise on Bobb and his workrate, in words that will be music to the ears of potential suitors. After a win over Brentford, Guardiola said: “Oscar defensively is a machine, he helped us a lot and in the final third. His one-v-one is really good and he made good decisions. I’m really pleased he played good.

“I will encourage him to be more incisive and when he goes one on one, two v two, he can create really big situations. He made an incredible pass to Phil which was a clear chance on the penalty spot that he should have got on target. In general, he was really, really good in that 1st half and defensively, offensively - in all aspects and he is a player we trust a lot.”
