Crystal Palace eye move for £25m Premier League 'machine' along with Borussia Dortmund
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner could look to boost his squad with some signings over the next couple of weeks
Crystal Palace have until the deadline on Monday 2nd February to bring in some new faces. They are sat in 13th place in the Premier League table after 13 fixtures. The Eagles are back in league action this weekend with an away trip to the Stadium of Light to play Sunderland.

Oliver Glasner’s side were dumped out of the FA Cup over the weekend by non-league side Macclesfield. The holders lost 2-1 to the National League North outfit. Yeremy Pino got their goal against the Silkmen but they weren’t able to find an equaliser in Cheshire.
Crystal Palace target Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb
Crystal Palace could move for Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb, according to TEAMtalk. The Eagles are being linked with a move for the attacker before the end of the January transfer window. Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have also been mentioned as a potential suitor.
Bobb, 22, is a Norway international with 16 caps to his name. He has been on the books at the Etihad Stadium since 2019 following early spells at Lyn and Valerenga. The forward has made 47 appearances under the guidance of Pep Guardiola so far in his career, 15 of which have come this season, and he has chipped in with three goals.
As per a report by Football Insider, ex-Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has said Bobb could be available for around £20-£25million: “I think they’re going to be quite easy to deal with on this one. I think something as low as £20m to £25m, I think, would be the sort of level. There seems to be different categories of strikers at the moment, and there does seem to be a whole market in that £20m to £30m level. And I think that’s where Bob will fit in.
“I think they may well do some sort of, you know, there’ll be some bonus-related stuff, but I think they’re going to be happy to do the deal. I think it’ll be £20m to £25m will be the sort of final price they’ll get into.”
Would Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb suit Crystal Palace and Oliver Glasner?
Crystal Palace could see Bobb as someone to bolster their attacking department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch. He is someone who likes to cut in on his left foot from the right which would give Glasner’s starting XI a new dimension.
The Eagles have to balance their domestic duties with their Europa Conference League campaign. They play a lot of matches and could do with bringing in a few more bodies to help deal with their workload. With that in mind, someone like Bobb would be ideal.
Guardiola said back in October: “Oscar defensively is a machine, he helped us a lot and in the final third. His one-v-one is really good and he made good decisions. I’m really pleased he played good. I will encourage him to be more incisive and when he goes one on one, two v two, he can create really big situations.”
A change of scene to Selhurst Park would do Bobb good over the coming months. He needs to be playing regular football at this stage of his career and City can’t offer him that at the moment due to the quality players that they have at their disposal in his position.
