Fulham have been boosted by the news that Newcastle United will be without their dependable duo Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes returning from international break with injuries.

Former Real Sociedad man Isak was called up by Sweden after a decent start to life in Tyneside.

But he’s returned early from international break without kicking a ball and reports are that he will be out for at least three weeks.

His injury will come as a big blow to manager Eddie Howe who has been quite keen on carefully integrating the forward into English football after signing him in the summer.

They will now hope Callum Wilson is able to provide the goals and leadership they require after the international break to get back to their winning ways.

Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes who has been amazing since joining the club has also returned from international break with a thigh problem and is set to miss the trip to Fulham this weekend too.

Newcastle were also without Chris Wood, and Allan Saint-Maximin is only now working on his fitness and trying to find his way back.

The double injury to Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak is particularly a massive blow after what has been a decent start to the season but there is no hiding from the fact that Eddie Howe would have wanted to get more points on the table.

Newcastle United are 10th on the league table with eight points from the seven games but they come up against a Fulham side who are also enjoying a rich vein of form with 11 points and sitting sixth on the Premier League table.

The Magpies are without a win in their last six Premier League games and despite encouraging displays against Manchester City and Liverpool, results against teams like Crystal Palace and Bournemouth will leave a bitter taste within the squad.
