Former Fulham defender Liam Rosenior has held talks with West Brom about their managerial vacancy. The Baggies remain in the hunt for a replacement for Steve Bruce.

The Sun have reported that Rosenior has emerged on their radar now. He parted company with League One side Derby County at the end of last month following their appointment of Paul Warne.

The 38-year-old hung up his boots in 2018 and delved straight into the coaching world. He took up a position with the development squad at Brighton and Hove Albion before becoming Wayne Rooney’s number two at Pride Park.

He was then handed the job on an interim basis following Rooney’s exit to DC United and took over for the first couple of months of this season. However, the former full-back left after seven wins from 12 and has since been weighing up his options.

Rosenior played for Fulham from 2003 to 2008 and was a good servant to the London club after signing from Bristol City. He went on to play 92 games during his time at Craven Cottage before embarking on spells at Reading, Hull City and Brighton.

West Brom could see him as a good long-term option for them as they hunt for their next manager. The Midlands have struggled so far this term and are 23rd in the table.
