Former Fulham boss Scott Parker has emerged as one of the early favourites for the Hull City job.

The Tigers are in the hunt for a new manager following their decision to sack Shota Arveladze.

Parker, 41, is available following his departure from AFC Bournemouth at the end of August.

BetVictor have made the former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder the 6/1 favourite for the Tigers’ vacancy, whilst SkyBet have him at 9/1 (as of 14:00, 30.09.22).

Other names in the frame on SkyBet are Chris Hughton (7/1), David Wagner (9/1), Liam Rosenior (10/1), Tony Pulis (10/1) and Sean Dyche (12/1).

Promotion winner

Parker knows what it takes to get promoted out of the Championship. He guided Fulham to promotion to the Premier League in 2020 via the play-offs and his Bournemouth side came 2nd last term.

He hung up his boots in 2019 and was handed his first managerial role by the Cottagers before going on to win 35.2% of games in charge of the London outfit.

Hull are currently sat in 20th place in the second tier and have parted company with Arveladze after four straight defeats.

The Tigers have an ambitious owner in Acun Ilicali and brought in 16 new faces over the summer including ex-Cottagers pair Jean Michael Seri and Cyrus Christie.

They are in action this evening at home to Luton Town and have placed former defender Andy Dawson in caretaker charge until a successor is found.
