Michael Hector is no longer training with Luton Town following his departure from Fulham. The centre-back remains a free agent since his exit from Craven Cottage at the end of last season and his hunt for a new home continues.

As per our sister title Luton Today, he is not with the Hatters anymore as they prepare for their return to Championship action this weekend. The Bedfordshire outfit have ex-Watford boss Rob Edwards in charge now.

Hector, 30, saw his contract at Craven Cottage expire at the end of June and he wasn’t offered a new one by Fulham. He saw his game time dry up last term under Marco Silva as the London club stormed to the second tier title.

The Cottagers snapped him up back in 2019 and he went on to play 40 games in all competitions. Prior to his move there, he spent four years on the books at Chelsea but was loaned out to Reading, Eintracht Frankfurt, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday to get game time under his belt.

Hector wasn’t the only player released by Silva earlier this year as he made changes to his squad following promotion back to the top flight. The likes of Alfie Mawson, Fabri, Timmy Abraham, Cyrus Christie and Jean Michael Seri also cut ties with the club, with the latter two now playing together again for Hull under ex-Fulham defender Liam Rosenior.
