Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham dealt transfer blow regarding La Liga man

Latest transfer news involving Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham emerges.

Barcelona have no plans to offload Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham-linked Franck Kessie in the January transfer window. The midfielder is poised to stay put this winter despite speculation of a switch to the Premier League.

As per reporter Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (see below), Barca’s director Jordi Cruyff has revealed their stance on his situation ahead of next month. He only made the move to La Liga in July.

Spanish news outlet Sport revealed that Spurs were leading the race for his signature, whilst Fulham were said to be lining up a move for him for Fichajes. The pair may now both have to look elsewhere for additions.

Kessie, 25, switched to the Camp Nou earlier this year after catching the eye during his five years at AC Milan. However, he has since struggled to make an impact with Xavi’s side and doesn’t get much game time.

The Ivory Coast international has made just seven league appearances so far this season but still has a future in Spain. His contract runs until the summer of 2026 and if Cruyff’s comments are anything to go by, he will fancy his chances of breaking into their side in the future.

Spurs are already well stocked up with options in the middle of the park, as are Fulham, and the duo may need to cross Kessie’s name off their list of targets now.
