It's an epic return for one London star who has been selected for the England squad at the first time of asking. Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been named by Gareth Southgate despite only rejoining the Bees squad in January following an eight-month ban for breaching the FA betting rules.

His return to Thomas Frank's side saw him score immediately and his recent form has been rewarded with a place in the Three Lions squad as they prepare to take on Brazil and Belgium in the final international break before the Euros kicks off.

One London star who does miss out, however, is Arsenal's Ben White. In his address to the media, Southgate confirmed that it was the 26-year-old's decision not to be selected at this time after he confirmed: "We had a call from Edu saying Ben didn't want to be considered for England at this time. It's a great shame, he's a player I really like, I spoke to him post Qatar because I was keen to pick him and there was reticence on his side.

"I don't know why that is but I have to respect that and I want to leave the door open to him. He would be in this squad but he's not available to us and I have to focus on those that can help us."

Toney is joined in the squad by fellow Londoners Jarrod Bowen (West Ham); Aaron Ramsdale - despite suffering from limited game time at Arsenal this season - Ben Chilwell (Chelsea); James Maddison (Tottenham Hotspur); Declan Rice (Arsenal); Cole Palmer (Chelsea) and Bukayo Saka (Arsenal).
