West Ham are reportedly no longer pursuing a move for Crystal Palace-linked Isaiah Jones from Middlesbrough. The Hammers are said to be moving onto other targets as they eye a right-wing back.

According to a report by Football League World, the Hammers are ‘moving’ away from the Londoner now as they prepare for the January transfer window. David Moyes’ side are currently 16th in the table and are only above the drop zone by a single point.

Crystal Palace are believed to be keen on Jones, with The Sun reporting that they are ‘eyeing’ a move for him this winter. It appears Boro are holding firm though and are not prepared to cash in on him cheaply.

The Championship side swooped to sign him back in 2019 from non-league outfit Tooting & Mitcham United and he initially had loan spells away from the Riverside Stadium up in Scotland with St Johnstone and Queen of the South to get some experience under his belt.

The 23-year-old has now established himself as a key player for Michael Carrick’s side and has made a total of 68 first-team appearances to date and has chipped in with four goals. His contract expires in June 2025.

Crystal Palace have some decisions to make on the transfer front ahead of next month as Patrick Viera weighs up what he needs. Jones fits the bill for the Eagles as he is young, has potential to develop and has already played a decent amount of games, with West Ham now appearing to be out of the race.
