Crystal Palace will have creative midfielder Eberechi Eze in the team for the first time in a month as they look for their first win in three league games.

Eze picked up an injury in the victory against Manchester United but has worked his way back into contention for this weekend’s game against a struggling Burnley side.

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson confirmed the midfielder was back even though he did not say if he would start. He told the press ahead of the game: “He’ll be in the squad. We’ll have to discuss whether he can start or whether we’ll have to just keep him up our sleeve.”

There is further positive news with young French forward, Michael Olise who signed a new deal at the club in the summer also back in training.

Hodgson also admitted the sports science department were being very careful but hinted he could be back sooner rather than later:

He added: “Michael is making good strides, but these sports science people are more careful with him.

“They haven’t released him to us to the same extent [as Eze], but he has taken part in parts of training and he’s looking good. I’m pretty hopeful that next week he will train fully with the group.”

The south London club are without a win in their last three games, having lost to both Newcastle and Tottenham and could only draw against Nottingham Forest.
