Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres had no intention to leave the Championship side in the January transfer window. The Sweden international was linked with a host of Premier League clubs this winter but ended up staying put beyond the deadline.
Brentford were reported to be interested along with Wolves and Everton by talkSPORT. Football League World claimed Crystal Palace wanted him.

I was just thinking about the games we had during January, focusing on Coventry, and that’s what I did.”
The forward has been in decent form this season and fired 14 goals in all competitions. He is only four shy from his tally from last term.
Brentford could have seen him as useful competition for Ivan Toney up front. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace may have targeted him as someone to battle with Odsonne Édouard and Jean-Phillipe Mateta in attack. However, the London pair both have to wait until the summer now to bring in reinforcements.
Gyokeres, 24, played for Brighton and Hove Albion before he joined Mark Robins’ side. He is under contract until June 2024.
