Oliver Glasner offers positive Crystal Palace contract news ahead of Newcastle United

Crystal Palace are headed for a contract boost as they look to ramp up their planning for next season. The Eagles are back in action on Wednesday night when they face Newcastle United away from home, still looking to force their way into the Premier League’s top half between now and the end of the season.
It has been a solid campaign from Palace, with Oliver Glasner managing clear improvement across the course of this campaign, and there will be plenty of optimism for next season as a result.

Palace traditionally cash in on one of their big stars in a bid to remain financially secure, but Glasner will want to keep hold of the majority of his players as he looks to take another step forward.
Aside from those linked with an exit, there are also other players whose contract situations need to be addressed, and one of those is Daniel Muñoz, who is relatively secure, with a contract until 2027, but the Eagles want to reward his important status in the team. Muñoz has made 30 Premier League appearances so far this season, and despite being a full-back or wing-back, he has provided six goals and as many assists, becoming a key part of Glaner’s plans.
Providing an update on the talks with Muñoz when asked if a new deal had been agreed, Glasner told reporters: “Not yet. We’ve confirmed Will [Hughes], but you can expect that we will confirm a few things in the next couple of days. Danny [Munoz] embodies the passion and spirit of the team. He’s so professional and always playing at a very high level.
“Also, he knows he has to improve a few things. For example, when we conceded the third goal after half time at Manchester City, he opened up the gap inside which he’s done two or three times this season. It’s great to have him. Since he arrived, he’s had such a good and positive impact on the Crystal Palace performance. Having these kinds of players in the squad is what you wish as a manager. He’s very reliable and always available. He has four goals and eight assists as a wing-back, so it’s very positive.”

Hide AdMuñoz on Palace relationship
Muñoz told the Palace website of his relationship with the club’s fans in January: “I think that relationship arises because I lived for so many years encouraging the team. I know how fans suffer, how they think, how they feel, and that’s how I feel on the field. Every time, I always try to give my best to the fan because when I was encouraging the team, when I was watching football, I always wanted the players to give their best to win.
“I have that connection with the fans and I always try to give my best. Many times things won’t go well, but I always try to give my best 100 percent, playing well, always without saving a drop of sweat, and I think that’s what the fan likes: that his players give their best, that they don’t give up. That they never give up even if many times things don’t go the way that they want.”
