Steve Cooper will be hoping that his team can now build on their 1-0 win against Liverpool when they take on Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday. The Gunners come into the game on the back of a defeat to PSV in the Europa League and were held by Southampton in a 1-1 draw in the Premier League the last weekend.

Nottingham Forest however have been boosted by their surprise 1-0 win over Liverpool even though they are still waiting for their first win of the season away from home. Steve Cooper has some players returning from injury to help his squad ahead of their visit to north London.

Lewis O’Brien who has missed the last three games due to illness has been back to training and will be assessed before a decision is made on his availability for this weekend. Big things are expected of the midfielder and his availability will give Steve Cooper wild options.

Moussa Niakhate (hamstring), Omar Richards (hairline fracture of the leg) and Harry Toffolo (hamstring) have all been ruled out even though they are making significant progress in their various recovery.

There is however some positive news with  full-back Renan Lodi now ready for a full game after coming off the bench against Liverpool the other day. Renan’s penetrative skill is an option that Cooper loves and his ability to defend both in a low and high block is the kind of options the Nottingham Forest manager wants going to a place like the Emirates.

Arsenal are looking for a response after the setback in Europe and in the league- while Steve Cooper’s side are still bottom of the Premier League with just nine points from 12 games- but hoping for a streak of good run after beating Liverpool.
