Manchester City have Phil Foden and Kyle Walker back in training as they continue preparation for their visit to south London this weekend in the Premier League.

The duo were huge doubts for the visit to Selhurst Park with Foden picking up a knock in the Newcastle win despite scoring a brilliant goal that gave his side a strong win.

Walker was involved in some off the field issues that have dominated the headlines but he was also seen in the training pictures sharpening his skills ahead of the weekend.

Crystal Palace had a few days off after the weekend’s defeat to Villa but have returned to training at their base in Copers Cope Road in Beckenham where they are also working hard with the aim to record their first league win of the year.

Despite the lack of wins the Eagles have been able to pick up points against Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle and high-flying Brentford and Brighton recently.

The south London club are 12th on the league table, but just five points off the drop and will need to avoid losing all their upcoming games against Manchester City, Brighton and Arsenal to avoid sleepwalking into a relegation fight.

As has been the case for most of Vieira’s side they have drawn more than they have lost or won but they did manage to pick a point against City when they last visited Selhurst last season. Also Patrick Vieira made a return from injury against Villa, he’s their top scorer and improves the teams significantly when he on the pitch.
