The defender has been a standout star of the European Championships, attracting interest from around the continent

Jude Bellingham and Marc Guehi could be teammates for much longer than they had anticipated with Real Madrid reported to be leading the way in the race for Guehi’s signature. It is also said that both Barcelona and Juventus are two others keeping tabs on the Crystal Palace and England centre-back while Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur remain long-term admirers of the rising Three Lions star.

The Eagles club captain is expected to be sold this summer but, as reported by The Sun, the Selhurst Park side are hoping to receive a similar fee to the £50 million they will be receiving from Bayern Munich for Michael Olise. The Chelsea academy has two years remaining on his current contract with Palace keen to cash in on his sale sooner rather than later, for fear he departs on a free transfer.

Despite the Euros 2024 being Guehi’s first major tournament, the 23-year-old has undoubtedly been one of the Three Lions’ best performers. Having missed much of Palace’s 2024 fixtures through injury, transfer interest in Guehi waned but his impressive displays in Germany have seen an immediate rise in attention with now the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners reportedly knocking on his door.

Real Madrid are currently in the market for a new centre-back after club icon Nacho, 34, left following the expiration of his contract to join the Saudi side Al Qadsiah. Arsenal have also been on the look-out to improve their defensive options as they seek a left-sided centre-back to help relieve the pressure on he formidable pair of Gabriel and William Saliba. Manchester United were also said to be tracking Guehi’s progress but are now reported to be exploring a move from Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

Guehi has played all four of England’s matches that have seen them reach the quarter-finals but will miss Saturday’s clash against Switzerland after picking up a second booking in the tournament during the Three Lions’ 2-1 win over Slovakia. Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa is currently predicted to take his place.
